You probably already read in Shannon's blog about how we have no car right now. I got the mechanic's quote to fix the car on Friday. $3,300 for the engine, $350 for an install kit to replace some other worn parts, $100 for a transmission service ... all of that is taxable at about 9%. Add to that $1100 in labor, and $84 in towing. All up, about $5,300 to get the car running again....
